Geoff Foley Trophy
Player of the year Under 11 & 12
The Player of the year awards are the most prestigious awards for our junior players achieving the most points in a competition coinciding with their match performances throughout the season.
Every player from BNJCA under 12 to Open divisions is automatically eligible and receives points in the competition. The awards include a bonus points system which rewards consistency.
About Geoff Foley
Geoff Foley is a former Ferny Fireballs player who played for the Club from 1977 to 1982. As an under 13 player he notched up four centuries for Ferny in the season of 1979/80. He went on to represent the Queensland Bulls with distinction from 1989 to 2000 as an allrounder and he also played an ODI game for Australia A against the West Indies in 1996/1997.

About James Hopes
James Hopes is a former Ferny Fireballs player who played for the Club as a junior from 1986 to 1993. In his last season as an under sixteen player he amassed 585 runs for Ferny including two centuries. He went on to represent the Queensland Bulls with distinction from 2001 to 2016 as an allrounder (including as captain from 2012 to 2016), He also played 84 ODI games and 12 T20 games for Australia from 2005 to 2010.

Half-Season Player of the Year
Under 12 to Open Division
The Half-Season Player of the year is awarded to the junior player who achieves the most points in a competition coinciding with their match performances throughout a half-season (either before or after Christmas).
Every half-season player from the BNJCA under 12 to Open divisions is automatically eligible and receives points in the competition. The award includes a bonus points system, which rewards consistency.
Girls' Champion Player
All Ages
The Purpose of the Girls’ Player Award is to recognise the girl player across all age groups within the BNJCA competitions that best demonstrates that she plays within the rules and the Spirit of Cricket in a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play at the same time maintaining consistent sound playing performance.

Andrew Middleton Trophy
Player of the Year
The Andrew Middleton Trophy is awarded to the Senior Club's "Player of the Year" - the Ferny player adjudged to have been the best performed player in the senior competitions.
About Andrew Middleton
Andrew Middleton was made a Life Member of Ferny Districts Cricket Club (FDCC) in 2017. He commenced his time with the FDCC in October 1997 as a parent and coach in his first son’s (Ben’s) Under 9 team. Since that time he was President of the Club from 2013/14 through to 2020/21. Andrew was the main driving force behind introducing the In2Cricket/ Have-a-Go cricket programs and a lead role with the introduction of T20Blast programs within the Club. He played a pivotal part in the early growth of senior (Warehouse) cricket at the Club and as President oversaw the development of our on field Club Kiosk/Clubroom facility and ground lights. Club Spirit Award
An award which recognises contributions of club volunteers that demonstrates the true spirit of the club.
The Club Spirit Trophy has been donated and strongly supported by Geoff Cowles OAM and his family (Charyl, Peter and David) in appreciation, in 2003. Prior to 2003 the club spirit trophy was the Peter Wilson Shield.
About Geoff Cowles OAM
Geoff Cowles OAM was made a Life Member of Ferny Districts Cricket Club (FDCC) in 2004. He commenced his time with the FDCC in October 1991 as a parent and scorer in his first son’s (Peter’s) Under 9 team. He has been the Club’s Statistician continuously since 1993/94 and organizer of the Junior Club trophy presentations since 1995/96. He has been Manager of the Club’s Cover Point Kiosk since its inception in 2000. He received an Australian Sports Medal for significant involvement with the Club and a Medal in the Order of Australia (OAM) in January 2007 for service to the community through a range of youth, sporting and church groups. In 2021 he was made a Life Member of Brisbane Norths Junior Cricket Association for his twenty year’s dedicated work overseeing the rule changes for Junior cricket. (Notes compiled November 2023).

The Gary Somerville Trophy is awarded to the "Colt of the Year" - the Ferny player adjudged to be the most promising emerging player in the Senior competitions.
About Gary Somerville OAM
Gary Somerville OAM was made a Life Member of Ferny Districts Cricket Club (FDCC) in 2017. He commenced his time with FDCC in October 2001 as a parent and coach in his first son’s (Sam’s) Under 8 team. Since that time he has been President of the Club from 2004/05 through to 2008/09; 2012/13; and 2023/24. He was Club Treasurer from 2013/2014 through to 2017/2018. He played a pivotal part in the early growth of senior (Warehouse) cricket at the Club and in the development of our on field Club Kiosk/Clubroom facility and ground lights.
